However, as I played more, I noticed a number of issues: firstly, there was no way for me to cancel or go back. By that I mean when I tapped 'OK' when it asked me if I wanted to check the field, it wouldn't let me go back to the duel after. So basically, the duel automatically ends there because I'm forced to quit the app. This really messed me up one time when I accidentally tapped it on a game that I was about to win.
This doesn't just apply to checking the field; another example would be when I just want to target one card for an effect that can target 'UP TO' (not forced) multiple things. Not only that, but the app crashes very often for me, especially during online duels. The cards might not be updated, but I hope that these issues will be addressed ASAP. YGOPro is an automated Online Duel system developed by Chinese programmer Argon Sun under the pen name of Florourhydride and his associates. The cards I mentioned before were edited as I requested, but is there really no way for anyone to change the prompt text of cards other than reporting it/asking for it to be done? It does disconnect and it only updates for 1 minute. If I don't press the search button 4-5 minutes after the first time I press it, the program disconnects and restarts. I can usually play a game all the way through but after that it'll say I surrendered when I go into the side screen.

When I try to save the card, I get a message saying: 'Unable to open the database file unable to open the database file' Then after clicking OK, the message appears again, then says the card was saved after that. Yet there was no change in Devpro/Ygopro.
Make sure the card manager is in the devpro folder(along with the cards.cdb) 2. Make sure you have search'd and loaded the card you want to change 3.

Hi, i have a little problem with devpro that costed me too many nerves and duels by now and makes some of my decks unplayable, but possibly i just dont know how to do things. Example: opponents draw phase, i want to activate Call Of The Haunted in his draw phase but the system never asks me wether i want to use a card, i already tried right clicking and left clicking, keeping the left/right mouse button pushed and changing all kinds of options. Same thing happens when i want to use something in the chain resolution window or when the opponent tries to end one of his phases. Cards that are often used in such phases like mst in end phase do open the question window but when it comes to unorthodox timings, it just doesnt work for me.
Is there any way to solve that problem? Id love an option where the system would ask me every single time i could potentially activate something. aside from that there are some other issues: for example: i activate Charge of the Light Brigade and mill 3 cards, now i have to chose a lightsworn but i cant look into my grave yet to see which cards were milled (aside from the top card), so i might end up chosing the wrong lightsworn monster for the situation. Another example: a card effect activates in the opponents grave, the system asks me wether i want to activate one of my traps, now i cant look into the opponents grave to read the card text of the card that activated in the opponents grave anymore because the question window has to be answered first, resulting in me not knowing wether i should now activate my trap. That can be a bit annoying and would force me to either use yugioh wikia, having opened the client a second time or to know all relevant cards well enough (incase id play serious).

We all know veiler doesn't work against those cards in real life because you can pass priority to activate their effects, then the opponent is forced to end veiler, then you activate them. Is there an actual way to do that in YGOpro or devpro? Because that single fact alone makes bujin and justice builds of prophecy absurdly worse than they actually are in reality. Thats an TCG only ruling and The Creator of the games engine lives in the OCG part of the world, he's been very dead set against implementing this. The DevPro team 'might' be able to do something about this but Im honestly not sure. When I get a change I'll talk to The Creator of the engine about this when I get on more solid footing with him to properly explain it and not be ignored.

Pretty sure you can just click 'yes' on the window, check the cards, and if you dont want to activate anything just cancel with right button. This comes down to Buttys, Tenkei, and Percy figuring it out if FH is unwilling to. Now that you mention this, I'm reminded of a replay I saved for that exact scenario where Yamato activated and resolved the effect under Veiler despite still having the 'negated' status icon. It comes from DevPro v1.9.9r2. I don't know whether this was done on purpose. Maybe they made an exception for these kinds of things.
EDIT: I just tested it again, a Veilered Yamato still resolves properly, but a Breakthroughed one doesn't (as expected). Thanks i'll give it a try Additional Comment: how is the salvation development goin?
Right now its just an exe you can tab threw, it has no functionality really. It can start the Replay section the Deck maker and the lan mode. I havent figured out how to get it running on the server yet. I have a plan for the deployment and update system. If I can work out some more functions I'll code a new client interface directly into it. You arent doing it by yourself are you?
I've gotten support from the other sim makers, directly and indirectly. Buttys Checkmate Tenkei BLS and MykeZero have been very helpful in advising me on HOW to construct everything. As far as writing code goes yes. I have staff, and do code reviews on my logic.
If I can not explain what Im doing clearly via the code and comments then I've done it wrong and have to redo it. They also do installations, intensive data entries from C code to JSON, configurations that take months and other important things so I can focus on coding.
But yeah at launch it will be a 40MB download, and then you can play, everything else will DL in the background completing the 1GB download. If you want to add something to the system beyond what is in the roadmap folder tell me here and or put in a pull request to be more formal. In addition to all this Im also working over at DN. When cards are printed they go into a repository and the original creator of YGOPro maintains them. When new cards come out that require engine changes he goes and changes all the cards effected. He does not have anime cards on his repository so he doesnt maintain them.
It would be up to a team of people to watch him and understand his changes and understand if they effect a specific anime card and then change it. Most the staff in all the system focus on keeping the server running users calm and writting new cards, very few work on maintain old ones.
Because so many people are doing nearly everything else FH maintains the cards, to OCG standards for us. They write the new cards, maintain the launcher, ygopro itself, moderate, refine the server software, work on the AI, develop other software. And kind like percy doesnt do that all by himself? Still no luck on the Shadow Mist. Anything else I can try? What the hell is wrong with you.

It's to damaging to the server, and the devs cant be arsed to do the required maintenance. That out weighs the small but extremely vocal duelist that want the cards. Measuring how many people used the cards by recording the call commands to the server, no one really used them, it was less than 2% of total host request. 10-12 duels per hour leaking memory in a way that couldnt be hotfixed because those cards arent really updated that much. If the anime cards where put on github and made available for the devs to maintain they might possibly add them back after FH reviews them all; but I dont know anything about ADS' politics. Additionally from what I've seen most if not all thsoe cards need to be rewritten. Then you have people.g about the functionality of the cards and that causes way to many problems.
Percy's system uses a different server system DevPros is custom and more sensitive to 'stupid'. In other news I finished the application system for my launcher then ran into issues with the chat system using flash so now I have to update that to soemthing else. Finished the launcher, after I get better net to throw gigs of data around I'll test the update system and finally make everything into 1 application. I have to rewrite my server after talking with other YGOPro Server Developers.

Not quite the same. Devpro start at 1200 rating for god unknown reason. NO matchmaking as of this time No separation between single and match (and then there tag ranked because who give a.) The ELO system on devpro is on very early alpha to say the least:rolleyes: But hey, one step in the right direction. Good job devpro. There is no 'duel pool' no I dont see a reason for thier to be.
You see your players elo like you see a duelist star chips, you pick who you want to duel against. And there are problem that come from picking 'manually' such as soft/hardcore boosting or kicking people that seem 'strong' and only dueling weak/etc DN had endured this problem before and that why they finally got the pool system. In order for ELO to work properly, there has to be a matchmaking system or 'duel pool' as you say to go with it. Wait wait, I'm confused.
I thought your version suppose to be browser-based, why do I read that we have to download and install a separate client.?:confused: Thats going to take another six months to a year. The LAUNCHER is built using node-webkit, a specialized browser that basically has all the security turned off. I can root around in your registry and write files to your file system and upload stuff back to my server just like a C# app could. The point of this is to edit the system.conf file and launcher and keep ygopro updated.
We got the launcher done first then made it to be directly intergrated with the site. Taking in everything that everyone wants. YGOPro gameplay 2. Customizations 3.

No down time 8. Ccg support 9. Browser based gameplay ultimately required a for initial stages a browser launcher to be developed.
The idea is do it in a hybrid manner first; the gamelist, chat, forums, update system, and UI are all web based. You can navigate to our website and see most if not all of what is in the launcher and interact with those elements even outside the launcher. We are gonn get a stable system based on this hybrid method, then slowly phase ygopro out for people wanting customization via it. Then move the cores off the server and have it as an alt client that gives enhanced gameplay even during server outages. Once you install the application 80MB, it downloads ygopro 800MB, an keeps it and itself updated. No more waiting for updates to download. As you switch the system on you have instant access to forums, chat and news and can see the download/update in progress with a progress bar that tells you EXACTLY what is being changed.
In the future the launcher will act similar to mIRC+Hamachi allowing manual and automated gameplay 'off network' without convoluted player search methods. Just go to the main chat or an alt chat and request a duel.

Ive been having some issues with manual activation of general spells/traps in response to summons from effects. Often times I'll have something, such as a face-down Theosophy of the Artifacts, opponent normal summons X monster, effect triggers which special summons another monster. I do not chain to the effect, the special summon happens (at this point I'm holding 'a' already to manually activate, as per normal), summon hits the field and opponent immediately makes a extra deck monster with no response window to the summon. Im pretty sure I'm doing everything right and this is a consistent issue. Any tips, is this a glitch or what? I recently downloaded this game on my Android s4 and I'm loving it! Access to all the new cards is great, and worlds better than the Nintendo versions that are outdated.
I do have issues with freezing and errors, though, particularly when I play against the AI Darkworld deck. In addition, the Buijins AI is kind of querky. I like practicing against it because I hate that deck, but when I SS Catastor and the AI has no response to get rid of it with a trap, they try to run it down on their turn and kill all their monsters.:- At any rate, this is game great!
There is already a name filter so you can search for a certain room and there is like, a maximum of 10 password rooms at a time, so I don't see why that would be necessary. You can't be booted on the Checkmate server. What's stopping you from going on the EU server? A name filter does what it says, filters by name. I'm talking about filtering all rooms that are passworded. Those two things are completely different.
Not talking about the Checkmate servers, but the US & Europe servers. Getting booted all the time because people are 'waiting for a friend' is ridiculous. Having a slot reserve would fix that. Both servers, US & Europe are basically 70%+ spanish speakers. It's sad you're concerned about this. Ygopro is from the community and for the community. It shouldn't matter if it's Percy/Devpro/TDOANE. This system currently is not a hybrid, its the way I imagined DevPro before all of this. Internal politics made it take a few turns.
So politics made you move away of Devpro and create yet another ygopro clone. I intend to keep it as a launcher for desktop to support the complete YGO community.

You can not just 'start one' and that is done on purpose. That and family issues.
From what I can tell its the only one poised to support web, and CURRENTLY has the most seamless update system. The launcher also is the only one designed to run on all 3 systems without modification.
The DN admins thought it would be a wonderful idea to delete the suggestion forum while I was reading it. So I cant get a full idea of what it is Im making. They have been very passive-aggressive about stuff. Added some badges to our git to show what all it is doing.
How much of the code actually gets ran and tested. Im in the process of writing more test to get the numbers up.
I untangled so much code to get the GPA up to a 4.0 on CodeClimate and Ive started writing the base code for the web browser. The thing is I want this project to be maintainable with minimal effort after it gets to the maintenance stage and maybe one day I hand it off tom someone when I cant maintain it my self or my staff maintain it easily im my absence. The design of the project is being set up so pushes to FHs git get put into our code, so the system is always upto date. There is even a little bot that shows up and says, 'Running testing, update immanent!' How well coded the code is also. Additional Comment: I wrote another proxy this on is setup so when your YGOPro goes to connect it connects to the launcher and the launcher inspects the code itself; gives me a print out of what is going in and out of YGOPro. The idea is to write code that comprehends all of this and updates the screen. Then do away with YGOPro for the new interface. Additional Comment: Buttys beta server system, run it on a small box and you can connect to it based on -j or LAN commands.

DevPro-Unity: 7 months inactive. The North American team had some issues with the European team so there was a split. Cultural and skill differences, the European team has more developers and less mods also less users to mod, the North American team has more mods and more users to mod so there was alot of not seeing eye to eye. DevPro consist of. A Core - YGOPro-FH /ocgcore - C# wrapper - C# network controller/process handler Server management software.
The cores are slave to it, and it is slave to. Central Chat software.
The hub and the management software need access to a centralized MySQL DB to work. So that is three programs. The YGOCore software buttys just released is an upgrade to the current DevPro cores. So to answer your question the cores. They both use C# cores.
SD will be moving to the newer public cores when Buttys finalizes the stdin/stdout api. There are bits and pieces of JS code that is a rewrite even farther down into the core connecting directly to the ocgcore.dll working in tandem with C code. SD uses different server management software that allows websocket connection and is not threaded reducing its overall complexity.
It connects to a MySQL DB shared with a WP installation allowing site intergration like DN has. Its chat system is IRC based which connects to this same DB, and finally the launcher is a complete rewrite. The YGOPro shipped with SD currently is just a rebranded DevPro one. That will be done away with as the web version is rolled out. Currently I am working on a domain model for the YGOPro network API. The Unity project has ended the code in it is bits from the bot system, and it will be used as a base moving into newer sims.
DN-JS is moving slow because of well DN. Its administration is very change resistance.
Since its launch in 2011 it has only had 1 developer so the idea of anyone else writing code for them and the consequences of that are lost on them. Idea generation is constantly derailed due to the political mess that DN is. The administration went and deleted the suggestion forum I was using to fill out the systems architecture for what new features to add and what to take out. Alot of 'BAD THINGS' will happen to the administration if I dont stall the project till they wrap there heads around it. A 'dev' to them is 'the one and only BLS', the idea of anyone else doing this stuff is foreign.
I dont want to get into specifics because I dont want to foreshadow something bad but anyone that is a dev can see the consequences already, I am trying to prevent those things from killing DN. So my team is focused on SD and only 1 other dev is working on DN. To get a good handle on how arguous this is gonna be they cant complete this task explain 'what is DN'. So any word on an update for DevPro? 83 cards where just added to the main project, all systems will update when VanillaSalt is done coding. FH is working on ygopro2's graphics. 17 is currently working on the Devpro db.
Zayelion is a ygopro programmer, so of course he is more experienced in ygopro. Ygopro2 is being developed as a successor of ygopro, it will be using a new engine. There are two parts to YGOPro a central 'ocgcore' you can see in that screen shot that processes all the lua scripts that are the individual programmed cards, and a GUI-wrapper-interface. You can compile them the core part and develop new ygopro software off of it like Butty's server shown in the above screenshot. You can see ocgcore in tha background. What you are seeing is a version of YGOPro with no or very little graphical interface.
YGOPro2 is a rework of YGOPro's graphical interface which currently uses the irrlight engine. You know when you hear game developers say they are 'going to the Unreal Engine' or using some new graphical rendering tech and the next version of the game looks prettier? Its the same concept here. YGOPro was not designed as a full product the core is seperate and is just rolling over into the next system so no functionality to the main game is lost he is just doing the graphics over again because the first where just a prototype.
Additional Comment: I know that Zayelion is a YGOPro programmer. It is clearly obvious.
Also, I went several posts above to see ygopro2, and idk how to use it. Will we get a download link soon? No it is in development and has been for a very long time but very recently we have seen nightly updates. Right now only the deck editor works. If you want to use it download and compile it, dont expect anything for a year and a half though.
