I am running Windows Vista 32 bit Home Edition and I am trying to get my Dell 922 Photo All In One Printer to connect. I have downloaded the drivers and everything says it downloads just fine.

When I try to print a test page, it says that it is NOT communicating with the printer. I have tried this several times by uninstalling and reinstalling and so on but still no luck. I have a HP Compaq ( piece of garbage!) computer. What the heck do I need to do to get this thing to work?

This is extremely frustrating! I have McAfee installed because I have Comcast Internet service. Please help!!! It sounds like we are having the same problem.

Although I was printing yesterday. I had an Inspirion 8600 with the 922 AIO printer using XP. But I recently got a Gateway computer. I had pulled the drivers down from the dell website and was actually printing.

BUT I wasn't scanning. So, I called Dell, they sent me a disk which I installed yesterday, and ever since I did that I haven't been able to print. I have uninstalled/reinstalled so many times, even downloading off the Dell site again, and still it is not connecting. I'm getting the Not Communicating message also. I was on the phone with Dell today for about 2 hrs. And got nowhere. My agrivation is that I was printing yesterday BUT not after I installed the disk that I was sent.

I was told today, that the disk was probably for XP. I like my 922 AIO, nice printer, but if I can't use it, what good is it? I had an Acer and a Dell laptop that both got stolen but the printer worked beautifully on them both.

My daughter has a Toshiba laptop and it works great!!! This HP that I have is garbage; it's supposed have the capability for me to put things on disk and it doesn't even do that.

I have spent numerous hours on the phone and over the internet with HP and still they can't seem to figure out why this computer cannot do what it's supposed to do. This is the last time I will ever buy an HP!!!

I have a similar problem. My Dell 922 AIO was directly connected to a Dell running XP. Other (XP) computers in my network were able to access it on our wireless network.

One of these computers was just replaced by a VISTA computer (Dell). I cannot find the CD that came with the printer (which wouldn't have a vista driver anyway), but tried installing the software from the website. It didn't work (can communicate with the printer). The I tried installing the VISTA driver on the directly connected computer as an additional driver, in case it was necessary. I managed to create a situation in which none of the computers can print. Clearly I should have done this differently, but what can I do now?
